About me
Tatiana Reyes serves as the Policy and Advocacy Coordinator for the Centers of Excellence within the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy. Since joining the Office in 2022, she has worked at the intersection of behavioral health, policy, and the criminal legal system, with a focus on strengthening cross-system collaboration and improving responses and outcomes for individuals experiencing behavioral health needs.Her work includes policy advocacy, grant review, program management, strategic planning, and technical assistance. She supports diversion and deflection efforts across Maryland through the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM), leading SIM mapping workshops and using the process to assess community needs, identify gaps and opportunities, share best practices, and bring together behavioral health, justice, and community partners to strengthen collaboration and systems-level responses.Tatiana serves as the lead coordinator for the Annual State Summit on Behavioral Health and the Justice System (State SIM Summit) and has played an integral role in the development and implementation of Maryland’s statewide SIM efforts. She is also a facilitator and presenter for the 5th Annual State SIM Summit, where she helps convene stakeholders to share insights, strengthen partnerships, and advance coordinated responses across the SIM intercepts.Tatiana recently earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She also holds bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Maryland. Her experiences as a first-generation college graduate have further shaped her commitment to advocacy, collaboration, and creating meaningful change.
