5th Annual State Summit on Behavioral Health and the Justice...
Wednesday September 16, 2026 9:30am - 9:45am EDT
This presentation introduces the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) as a guiding framework for understanding opportunities for diversion for individuals with behavioral health needs across the justice system. The Centers of Excellence will provide an overview of SIM and its use to support local planning, cross-system collaboration, and coordinated responses across intercepts.

This year’s theme, Learning Across Intercepts: Turning Uncertainty into Insight, will be introduced as a guiding lens for the summit. The theme reflects the importance of examining how systems interact at each intercept and using shared learning to better understand complexity, surface questions, and identify opportunities for improvement.
